Affiliate promotions have been utilized for quite a bit of time. There are many affiliates who are making a good living from the comfort of their home. Becoming an affiliate marketer and finding success is mainly about making sure you get the various factors right. This article will offer a few affiliate promotion myths that you need to know about.  You could promote an exercise bike review site too.

Misconception number one: paid traffic is necessary for growth.

The statement is true but not telling the entire story. Yes, free traffic such as, YouTube, SEO, and article marketing can still bring lots of visitors to your site. These methods are slow but they still do their job, and that is to funnel targeted visitors to your site. But it is still free traffic; which is a bargain. Taking the time to master something like Google Adwords or another paid traffic source can be your first step to becoming a super affiliate; we all know that super affiliates almost exclusively use paid methods to receive the size paychecks that they are accustomed to. But saying that you simply can’t make money with affiliate marketing unless you pay for the traffic is wrong. There are many affiliate marketers who have made thousands of dollars in commissions without investing anything except time. So if you want to be really successful, you can start off with the free marketing methods and then move on to the paid ones.

Another affiliate marketing myth is that there is just too much competition to deal with. The truth is that the internet is growing and the current marketers aren’t even close to tapping its potential. Even a product whose stats shows that it has a thousand affiliate is still not as competitive as you may think. Trust me, out of all of the affiliates promoting a product, only a few are making any respectable amount of commissions. That’s right, it may only be 2% of the affiliates who bring in 90% of the conversions. Even though it is a bad choice, you are free to pick a less “competitive” product to promote.  You could also promote ceramic tile patterns.

Another myth is that your site should display colorful flashing banners. Those types of banner adds don’t serve any purpose and in fact they will cause visitors to leave your site. Your banners need to be simple and relevant to your site’s theme. An image of the product is good enough.

Put bluntly, affiliate marketing is easy. It doesn’t cost anything to get started, so there’s no risk associated with starting an affiliate marketing business. You can set off on the path to financial freedom today by making a goal to get started.
